ARTIST STATEMENT

Art has taken me many places in the last thirty years. I have painted on the summit of Huayna Picchu, on sun drenched Hawaiian beaches, by canals in Saint Remy, on ledges in mountains of Japan with snow monkeys, and with marine iguanas in the Galapagos. Or just in my little garden in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I have absorbed much as an artist and art instructor—and I am proud to consider myself a lifelong student of art and its history.
My experiences have brought me to new understandings and expression throughout my career.  So, now I am coming home to what makes the most personal sense to me creatively.
I am consolidating toward essential forms, concentrating on what feeds my spirit—the play of light and its magical effects on the land and on the water.
My art is ever more purely my passion.
